Sights & nature
The villages of the Luberon — Gordes, Roussillon and Ménerbes first among them — are among the most beautiful in France, perched on their stone hills. The Sénanque Abbey and the ochres of Roussillon show two very different but equally characteristic faces of the region.
Going out & dining
The Provençal tables of Gordes and the Luberon combine local producers and refined cuisine. Many houses in the region favour seasonal cooking, built on olive oil, herbes de Provence and garden vegetables.
Activities & experiences
Provençal markets, the wine route between Luberon and Ventoux, hikes through the Ochres of Roussillon: Provence can be explored on foot or by car, from village to village and vineyard to vineyard.
Traditions & events
The lavender harvest in July colours the plateaux of Valensole and the Luberon a characteristic blue-violet. Many Provençal villages still celebrate their traditional feast days throughout the summer.
